Trans-Swim: Fondation Émergence and the City of Montreal team up
Ensuring equitable access to public spaces for people of diverse gender identities is essential. With this in mind, Fondation Émergence had the privilege of supporting the City of Montreal in implementing the Trans-Swim pilot project at Quintal Pool. This initiative aimed to create a more inclusive environment for trans and non-binary individuals in sports and recreational facilities.
Customized support for genuine inclusion
Our support services are built on a personalized approach, tailored to the specific needs of each organization. For the Trans-Swim project, we worked closely with the management team at Quintal Pool to review community guidelines and ensure they reflected inclusive and respectful practices for all gender identities.
We also provided training on LGBTQ+ inclusion for pool staff, equipping them with practical knowledge and concrete strategies to better welcome and support their clientele.
